This class is pre-approved for 5 CE credits with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) with the event code 64977869. Upon finishing this class you will be provided a CCPA form to fill out for your records, as well as a certificate of completion. Note: Class price is in USD.
Misophonia is a newly recognized discrete condition where otherwise normal sounds like whistling, tapping, chewing, and more cause an aversive fight-flight-freeze response in individuals. Misophonia is most likely neurophysiological and this course has a neuro-affirming approach for clinicians.
This course provides clinicians who wish to understand misophonia an overview of the disorder, current understandings of the disorder, and will introduce you to the Misophonia Matters Approach. This will also include worksheets which can be downloaded and used in your clinical practice. Those who wish to afterwards may apply to be a part of our Clinician Directory at no additional cost.
This course includes both video and text content and you must pass the exam at the end in order to pass the course (60%). Those who pass this course will be able to display a badge on their websites (as well as the clinician directory) indicating that they have taken this course an have the basic understanding of Misophonia.
This class rewards the position, “Class 1: Fundamentals” and those who pass are eligible to become a Verified Clinician through Misophonia International.
