For sound accommodation like most phones there are the basics- turn off touch tones when typing, select notification sounds or turn them off, silent modes, and more. These features are run of the mill, but I will note that older iphones like the 14 have a physical silence switch which I prefer.

While I do think there are things that need to be changed with the new iOS versions (like increased accessibility of liquid glass though Apple has responded to complaints to make it less aggressive). Older iphones that only use 17 cannot take advantage of accessibility effects like turning off the blinking cursor, so you should consider a model that allows this if this matters to you. The following models can use ios 18 or 26, other than the iPhone XS/XR models.

Apple has allowed liquid glass to have a “tinted” selection which reduces the transparency and helps with visual issues.
