What’s Involved:
- Estimated time: 40 minutes
- Cognitive task involving rapidly responding on your keyboard to a series of images
- Completion of questionnaires on anxiety, depression, sound sensitivity, and repetitive thinking patterns
The task includes emotionally evocative images, such as very disturbing gore, graphic violence, and distressing situations, which might cause discomfort or distress. If you would find these kinds of images particularly disturbing, we highly discourage participation!
Eligibility:
- Between the ages of 18-45
- Fluency in English
- No current psychiatric diagnosis or cognitive impairment
- No symptoms of hearing loss
- Normal or corrected vision
- Participants with or without misophonia may participate
- Willingness to participate in a study that involves extremely disturbing images
We are looking for participants both with and without misophonia to participate in
a study on cognitive and emotional factors related to misophonia.
