While I do think there are things that need to be changed with the new iOS versions (like increased accessibility of liquid glass though Apple has responded to complaints to make it less aggressive). Older iphones that only use 17 cannot take advantage of accessibility effects like turning off the blinking cursor, so you should consider a model that allows this if this matters to you. The following models can use ios 18 or 26, other than the iPhone XS/XR models.
- iPhone 17 models: iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max
- iPhone 16 models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 15 models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 14 models: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 13 models: iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 12 models: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 11 models: iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone XS/XR models: iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR *** Cannot use ios 26.
- iPhone SE models: iPhone SE (2nd generation) and iPhone SE (3rd generation)
Apple has allowed liquid glass to have a “tinted” selection which reduces the transparency and helps with visual issues.
