About me: Shaylynn Hayes-Raymond is an LCT-C with a MA in Counselling Psychology, BA in Political Science, and honours diploma in Creative Digital Media. Shaylynn is the director of the International Misophonia Foundation and a private-practice therapist in New Brunswick, Canada. Shaylynn has written numerous pieces on misophonia and has been an advocate for the condition since 2015. Shaylynn herself has misophonia and is a passionate mental health advocate both as a therapist and as neurodiverse advocate.
About Misophonia International: In 2015, Dr. Jennifer Jo Brout and Shaylynn Hayes-Raymond met through a misophonia advocacy page. Together, Shaylynn and Jennifer devised a magazine, books, and eventually created numerous misophonia websites. Dr. Brout contributed numerous research articles, advocacy, clinical experience, and a numerous wealth of knowledge. Shaylynn’s focus was primarily on the technological side as well as providing writing and social media campaigns to amplify misophonia awareness. As time went on, Jen and Shaylynn worked together on misophonia classes, eventually running Misophonia Education for 3 years. As of today, Misophonia International is run solely by Shaylynn Hayes-Raymond, who sincerely thanks and appreciates the hard work and dedication in the field of misophonia that has been accomplished by Dr. Jennifer Brout.
When The International Misophonia Foundation first started, the IMF graciously using social media pages from Misophonia International (Shaylynn Hayes-Raymond). Now the IMF would like to share on pages that are 100% clear on mission goals of research, coping skills, education, and awareness to sufferers of misophonia, clinicians and researchers. Our first step on this path is to create social media pages which clearly identify our organization to help fellow advocates, sufferers of misophonia, clinicians, researchers, and potential donors find our organization! Please follow the IMF pages, and stick around here for the same dedication to misophonia topics as usual– with some more mental health topics sprinkled in!
