Clinicians who help persons with misophonia should be aware of the most current and up to date research. We also ask that clinicians offering services for misophonia consider that there is no approved treatment for misophonia, and listen to feedback from their clients. Exposure therapy should not be used as it does not work, and is akin to torture. Misophonia sufferers do not habituate, and while they should be supported through this journey, all providers here should understand that Misophonia International and The International Misophonia Foundation DO NOT endorse expensive unverified treatments or exposure therapy.
